YCF Schools' Offers

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s principal aim is to provide cricket based education and community programmes throughout the county. Working with Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Yorkshire Cricket Board, we’ve been able to make a positive difference in the community and keep Yorkshire’s rich cricketing heritage alive.

Much of our work is targeted at the younger generation who are the next crop of Yorkshire supporters and local cricketers. We use the world famous Headingley Stadium as a tool to inspire and enthuse, and the players as role models to whom the children aspire to emulate. Their experiences here live long in the memory; whether it’s playing on the outfield in front of thousands during the lunch break, hitting a ball for the very first time in the Cricket Centre or sitting in your hero’s spot in the changing room. Headingley facilitates opportunities that few other venues can offer.

There are a number of projects that the YCF offer for both primary and secondary schools and to a variety of different year groups. It could be a Stadium Tour to reward good behaviour, a subsidised trip to the test match to watch England take on World Cup finalists New Zealand or something curriculum based like Cricket in the Classroom that meets the educational needs of the children while still enjoying the thrill of a cricket coaching session and a Stadium Tour.

We all enjoyed lots of things but the things I enjoyed the most are the quiz, the museum and the tour of the ground. I particularly enjoyed the fun cricket games that we played as I really enjoy sport. it was one of the best days of my life!

If you think your school might benefit from a trip to Headingley, please have a look at what we could offer your school; click here to go to our offers page and contact nick.robinson@yorkshireccc.com to discuss any of the projects further.
