BLK become official sponsor of Top Gun

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and BLK announced today they have agreed a three-year deal as headline sponsor of Top Gun, the search to find the fastest club bowler in Yorkshire.

Top Gun is a project run by the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation where bowlers have the opportunity to get clocked, measuring how fast they bowl. Heats have been running across the county with the fastest 12 being selected for the semi-finals held at the interval of Yorkshire Vikings T20 fixtures.

The winner of each semi-final plus the fastest runner-up will complete the four who go through to bowl in the final which will be held at the England vs Australia One Day International at Headingley Cricket Ground.

Mark Kirkup, Director of Sales at BLK said, “We are delighted to support Top Gun, it’s a great initiative to engage with cricket clubs throughout the county. Last year’s competition was fantastic and we hope to work with The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation to make it even bigger”

BLK’s sponsorship demonstrates their intention to breakthrough into the English market, providing premium training and team-wear to cricket clubs throughout the county.

A sports clothing manufacturer that transcends sports, BLK supplies cutting edge, high performance player tested apparel for thousands of teams globally. As official sponsor, BLK will provide apparel for all the participants who get through to the semi-final stage and beyond.

The overall winner of the competition will receive the Top Gun Trophy, a chance to train with the Yorkshire CCC squad and will become a BLK sponsored player for the 2016 season, receiving a £500 voucher for BLK kit. Furthermore, their team will be fully kitted out for the 2016 season with training and team wear tailored to their club and sponsor.

Will Saville, Yorkshire Cricket Foundation manager said, “We are delighted to be entering into this partnership with BLK. They are already very well known in cricket having supplied all the kit previously for the T20 Big Bash in Australia. BLK’s sponsorship is offering fantastic prizes that will enhance the Top Gun competition and benefit those club cricketers who we aim to engage with”.

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation will be attending all of Yorkshire’s T20 warm up fixtures in Sheffield, Marton, Pudsey, Harrogate and York, running the Top Gun competition. There will also be a further heat at the Cricket Centre at Headingley Cricket Ground, Tuesday 12th May 6-8pm.
