The Yorkies help deliver top test match

In Yorkshire we like to do things our own way and the Headingley Test Match is no different. On Friday 29th May Yorkshire hosted the 2nd test match between England and New Zealand. A fantastic match full of new records, great atmosphere and a great advert for test cricket.

This fixture was also the international debut for our new Match Day Support Team, The Yorkies. The Yorkies are a new concept at Headingley aiming to welcome spectators and helping them to have a great day Yorkshire style. Wearing the bright blue t-shirts with Yorkshire welcoming slogans, The Yorkies were present at train stations, bus stops in town, the main gates at Headingley and around the ground. They handed out maps, information, advice and made sure everyone had the best possible start to the day.

If you’re heading to a T20 Blast or International fixture in the future keep a look out for The Yorkies team who will be around and about. If you’d like to join them contact sam.gascoyne@yorkshireccc.com
