The YCF host Dementia Friends Training
To continue on our path to becoming Dementia Friendly, the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation played host to a Dementia Friends Training session.
On Monday 25th April, the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation held a Dementia Friends training session, ran by Leeds Dementia Action Alliance, which was open to all members of YCCC and YCF staff. With around 15 members of staff in attendance, the YCF are on the right tracks to becoming a Dementia Friendly environment for staff and visitors alike.
The training offered attendees an insight into what it can be like to live with dementia and provided them with the skills to put that understanding into action where necessary.
The training has contributed to the skills already obtained by YCF Staff to meet the needs of some of those who attend groups as part of the Older People’s Projects, such as the ever popular Lads Lunch and Catch Up Club. The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation look to continue their work out in the community with those who may suffer from, or may be prone to suffer from dementia, isolation and depression, by offering a variety of sessions for individuals or groups to attend.
