Henshaws College join 'The Yorkies' for the day!

On Friday 20th May, Day 2 of the England V Sri Lanka Test Match, Henshaws specialist college made their way down to Headingley to be a part of our Major Match Day Support Team, the Yorkies, for the day… and what a fabulous job they did!

Styling our unmissable bright blue Yorkie T-shirts, the Henshaw’s team of staff and students split off onto gates to meet and greet spectators and hand out information leaflets to make sure everyone had a warm welcome here at Headingley.

Our students were customer service representatives for the cricket ground, handing out maps, directing people where to go and trying to answer questions from guests. Each one of them really stood up to the mark and participated fully despite this being a new and somewhat daunting experience. Their hard work paid off though and they were able to sit back and enjoy the game in the afternoon before heading back to the college. –Lee Gray, Work Experience Coordinator at Henshaws Specialist College

Henshaws College was “bowled over” by Yorkshire Cricket Grounds friendliness – Dan Glegg, Henshaws Specialist College staff member

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation is the charity arm of the YCCC and we focus all of our projects on one of our 5 core themes: Education, Health & wellbeing, History & Heritage, Participation and Inclusion.

Our Yorkie Team focuses on these core themes, which is represented by our diverse range of people, from all ages, backgrounds and abilities, which is what makes the Yorkies so great!
