Bhuddays Maintain 100% Record
Former Grey Fox Champions the Bradford Bhuddays made it two wins from two with a 49 run victory over Hepworth Idle.
Batting first, and knowing Hepworth Idle started with a 25 run lead according to the age rules, the Bhuddays knew they needed to make a fast start.
Despite losing Haider for just 9, Iqbal and K Mahboob got the innings back on track with Iqbal retiring for a fine 35. Bhatti then took the reigns and batted well with the lower order; in particulat Khan who was eventually run out for 28.
For Hepworth, the pick of the bowlers were Sharp and Dunne who both took 2 wickets and went for less than 20 off their 5 overs.
Starting with 25 runs already on the board, Hepworth Idle knew that 154 would see them home. However their innings never really got going, with wickets falling at regular intervals.
Despite excellent contributions from opening batsman Goodaire and number 7 Orrell who finished not out on 32 the Grey Fox Trophy regulars were unable to overhaul the Bhuddays total.
Both Bhatti and Mahroof finished with exceptional figures of 2 for 3 and 3 for 6 respectively.
Once again, the Grey Fox Trophy produced another thoroughly enjoyable game, played in a fantastic spirit.
