YCF Running Club Recruits New Run Leader

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation has appointed a new voluntary qualified run leader to lead the YCF Running Club!

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation Run Club was initially launched in May, running for 10 weeks. After the success of the first group in Summer, the project was launched for another 10 Weeks in Autumn, with plans in place to start up again.

The project is part of our Health & Well-being theme and offers around 75 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise a week and is inclusive of all adults of differing abilities, from complete beginners to intermediate runners.

The sessions provide a social, comfortable environment and include tips and practical advice needed to improve running, which is where the Run Leaders come in.

The project was set up with Run Leeds, starting with a member of their team, along with a Run Leader. As the group is expanding, a new qualified Run Leader has been appointed to join the team in taking the weekly sessions.

‘I’m really excited to be a Run Leader and take on some of our sessions. I started the running group back in May and watched it progress over the two 10 week blocks. Every week we take part in different activities and sometimes challenges, adding a more social element to running. I’m really looking forward to incorporating some new activity ideas to our weekly sessions!’ -Charlotte Jones, The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation

Run Leaders are qualified under England Athletics and form part of their ‘Run Together’ initiative which aims to provide opportunities for people all over England to take up running, inclusive of different abilities and backgrounds.
