YCCC win Customer Match Day Experience Award
Yorkshire County have been awarded the winners of Customer Match Day Experience at the ECB Business of Cricket Awards.
On Thursday 17th November, YCCC among other counties made their way to Lords for an evening of celebrating the 2016 season.
YCCC were given the Customer Match Day Experience award based on the improved experience at T20 fixtures at Headingley in 2016, which took into account all aspects of the customer journey. The club has made great efforts to create a truly enjoyable experience from start to finish for every person who walks through the gates at Headingley and this award highlights just how successful this has been.
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, throughout the 2016 season have put on a variety of match day activations at Headingley, which have enhanced the match day experience for people visiting Headingley.
This award pays testament to the hard work and dedication shown by both staff and volunteers across all the major match days throughout the summer. We look forward to redoubling our efforts and delivering an even better product for the 2017 season.– Nick Robinson, The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation
The major match day support team, otherwise known as ‘The Yorkies’ have been present at matches to give spectators who come to Headingley and Scarborough a helping hand, to make their experience at Headingley a memorable one. Our Yorkies were based near train stations and at key bus points in and around Headingley, so that spectators were greeted before they even entered the ground. Upon entrance, they were given maps and giveaways, including our bright yellow Yorkshire hairy headbands!
Before start of play, the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation gives two Club Yorkshire Club Junior teams from across Yorkshire the opportunity to take part in the Guard of Honour. The children get to go onto the pitch as flag bearers in front of thousands of spectators, experiencing up close what goes on at Yorkshire before a match. In addition to soaking up the great Headingley atmosphere, the two teams get to compete during the interval on the outfield and receive free tickets to the match plus a free T-shirt as a keepsake, making the match one to remember!
Similarly, the YCF gives one lucky child the opportunity to be a ‘Match Day Mascot’, where they not only get to meet both captains, they also get to watch the players warm up pitch side, walk to the middle for the coin toss and have a professional photo taken. They are then free to take their seat and enjoy the match after this once in a lifetime experience.
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation would like to thank all of our team of Yorkies who made the Headingley experience so fantastic and all of the children who took part in all of our match day activations.
