Yorkshire Cricket College Open Day 2nd June

The Yorkshire Cricket College, starting in September 2017 is open to students aged from 16-19 years old. Located at Headingley Stadium, students will undertake a 2 year, BTEC Level 3 extended diploma in Sport delivered by education partner SCL. This will be combined with cricket training and matches built into their timetable under the tutelage of Yorkshire Cricket Coaches.

The BTEC qualification represents the equivalent of 3 A-Levels and can provide the platform for students to progress to higher education or be a springboard into working life.

After two successful open days, the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation will be hosting another open day on Friday 2nd June, the first day of the Yorkshire CCC v Lancashire CCC Roses County Championship match.

All registered attendees will be invited to watch the evening session of the match from the exclusive vantage point that is the Harrogate Spring Water press box in the Carnegie Pavilion from 4pm.

The open day will include a presentation by SCL outlining the BTEC level 3 qualification and the different modules involved. You will also hear about the benefits of attending the college such as the work experience and higher education opportunities available.

Those attending will also participate a cricket session to give students a sample of the expert coaching on offer as well as an opportunity for parents to speak to the tutors about the 2 year course.

“We want to create a really good college – somewhere that’s a great place to be educated, and a really good teaching environment. The bonus is that cricket is built into the timetable 3 times per week! The Yorkshire Cricket College will help students realise their potential both on and off the field” – Nick Robinson, Yorkshire Cricket Foundation

The open day on 2nd June will take place in the East Stand classroom at Headingley 6pm-8pm. To register for an Open Day, go to wearescl.co.uk/yorkshire-cricket. To speak to someone regarding the Yorkshire Cricket College, please contact Nick.Robinson@Yorkshireccc.com or telephone 01132 033632.
