Yorkie Profile- David Smith

The Yorkies are the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s Major Match Day Support Team, who help out on major matches and events across the season at both Headingley and Scarborough Cricket Ground.

As it’s National Volunteers week, we would like to share with you the background of some of our wonderful Yorkies.

Name: David Smith.
Occupation: I am a retired Health Safety adviser and lifelong cricket fan, principally Yorkshire CCC.
About David: I am a member of YCCC along with my wife Margaret and daughter Julie, and I am a Yorkie volunteer. I became a Yorkie to help the club through providing a friendly face-I think so(!)-and help and advice to visitors to Headingley for cricket matches.
Sum up the Yorkie experience in three words: Rewarding , fulfilling, exciting.
Favourite Cricket Player? My favourite cricket player is Jonny Bairstow.
Which match are you most looking forward to with the Yorkies? The match I am most looking forward to is the Test match against the West Indies,
