Yorkie Profile-Georgina Gamble

The Yorkies are the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s Major Match Day Support Team, who help out on major matches and events across the season at both Headingley and Scarborough Cricket Ground.

As it’s National Volunteers week, we would like to share with you the background of some of our wonderful Yorkies.

Name: Georgina Gamble, but everyone calls me George.
About George: I’m a proud northerner, I love going to the gym, and obviously cricket is my favourite sport! I became a Yorkie because I enjoy meeting new people and volunteering is just a great thing to be involved in. I’m a YCCC member and thought becoming a Yorkie would be a great way to get involved with the club and spend some of my spare time.
Sum up the Yorkie experience in three words: Full of banter! But on a more serious note, it is rewarding, fun and exciting.
Favourite Cricket Player? It’s hard to just pick one! Obviously I love Joe Root – who doesn’t?! Liam Plunkett is also pretty awesome.
Which match are you most looking forward to with the Yorkies? The match I am most looking forward to volunteering at is probably the Bank Holiday Test Match between England and the West Indies.
