YCF Take Off at First T20 Blast!
Blast is back!
We’ve waited a whole year for it and now it’s finally back.
There was a buzzing atmosphere, flaming pyrotechnics and excitement in the air as Yorkshire Vikings took on Notts Outlaws on Friday 7th July in the first T20 of the season, winning by 48 runs!
Here at The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF), we’ve been super excited about the start of the T20 season and here’s a little taste of what we go up to on the night…
The Yorkies, who made their debut in 2015, are the Volunteer Match Day Support Team. They were on top form as always, helping people around the ground, giving away freebies and just generally being a welcoming face.
If you’d like to join our ever going diverse team of Yorkie, please contact Joanne.Swinbank@yorkshireccc.com
Match Day Activations
The YCF offer Club Yorkshire Club’s the opportunity to take part in the Guard of Honour at Yorkshire Viking fixtures. Two teams go onto the pitch before the game as Vinnie the Viking and the players run through as they wave their flags. The teams then get to take part in a throwshow competition during the interval!
Match Day Mascot
During our major match days, the YCF give one lucky child the opportunity to go onto the pitch for the coin toss and have their photo taken with the captains. Well done to Oscar who was our T20 mascot for Yorkshire Vikings vs. Notts Outlaws!
Oscar won this opportunity from participation in a YCF Twitter competition answering ‘I want to be a Mascot because…’
For similar opportunities, check out our Facebook and Twitter pages!
As always, we had our match day raffle for spectators to get involved in and our YCF gazebo which gives information on the work of the foundation out in the community and how people can engage with the YCF.
Thank you to everyone who came over and chatted to us and everyone who took part in the raffle, which helps to raise essential funds for our work.
Selfie Board Competition
Throughout the evening, we went around the stadium with our BRAND NEW Selfie Board and hosted a competiton to find the best #YCFSelfie with the winners winning two free ticket vouchers. Well done to Paul who won the competition!
