YCF on the Hunt for 2018 Grey Fox Trophy Teams

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF) on the lookout to recruit some new teams for the Grey Fox Trophy.

The Grey Fox Trophy is a Yorkshire based over 50’s cricket competition administered and delivered by the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. The culmination of the event sees a semi-finals day taking place at Weetwood Cricket Ground and a finals day at North Marine Road, Scarborough.

The cost to enter a team is £25; the tournament format includes a round robin group stage with the top 4 teams progressing onto the semi-finals day. Meanwhile, those who don’t qualify to play at Weetwood compete for the Plate trophy, a knockout competition with the final 2 teams qualifying for finals day in Scarborough. The winners of the semi-finals day make up the other game played at Scarborough and play for the Grey Fox Trophy.

With age-related run handicaps in place, batsmen retiring on 35 and over limits per bowler, the competition is not just aimed at cricketers still playing on a regular basis. It gives those who have retired or are unable to commit to regular formal cricket the opportunity to don their whites and enjoy a game of competitive cricket in a friendly environment.
