Cricket in the Classroom Available Dates March-May
Cricket in the Classroom (CITC) is the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s flagship and longest running educational scheme. The programme takes place from 10am – 2:30pm every Wednesday and Thursday during term time for key stage two primary school children and comprises of a 90 minute classroom session, 90 minute introduction to cricket and finishes with a behind the scenes stadium tour in the afternoon.
In the classroom, children complete a curriculum based workbook encompassing numeracy, literacy and geography – all with a cricketing twist. In the Cricket Centre, our introduction to cricket session caters for all abilities and builds on the fundamental movement skills required to play the game as well as more specific skills that cricket demands.
After lunch, the stadium tour takes a look at the Yorkshire Cricket museum, players’ practise area and dressing room as well as the media and hospitality facilities inside the Carnegie Pavilion.
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s educational programmes aim to utilise the power of cricket and the inspirational environment and facilities at Emerald Headingley to give the participants an unforgettable educational and cricketing experience.
