YCF set for Woodhouse Moor Parkrun takeover

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation are hosting the Woodhouse Moor parkrun on Saturday 11th May and we want you to join us and ‘Make your Mark’.

Parkrun is a weekly five-kilometre timed run that is free for anybody to complete, regardless of running ability, experience or age.

Having started in London with just 15 runners, the event has now gone worldwide and had over 3.5m million people take part.

The event is organised from start to finish by a team of volunteers and has created a fantastic community of like-minded people, who all spread the love of running and the mental, physical and social benefits it brings, encouraging wellbeing and inclusivity.

We are doing this takeover at our local parkrun to celebrate our Couch to 5k Challengers completing our Couch to 5k Challenge last month.

By completing the parkrun, they can set themselves a benchmark time for a 5k and also experience the social running community in its prime, with the hope of inspiring them to continue their involvement in the social running scene.

Since completing the challenge, the competitors have continued to run with the YCF’S #RoseRunners group, which meets every Monday at the Headingley Indoor Cricket Centre.

We will be meeting at 8.45am on the corner between Moorland Road and Clarendon Road at Woodhouse Moor, ready for a 9am start.

Whether you want to take part, support the runners or simply volunteer some of your time we would love to see you there so come along, say hi and make your mark!

To take part in the run you must register your details with them before the day of the event. To do this, visit the parkrun website.
