Royal London One-Day Cup Semi Final!
On Sunday, Headingley is proud to host the Royal London One-Day Cup Semi Final, Yorkshire Vikings vs Gloucestershire.
It is sure to be a busy and exciting day for the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, as we are hosting Kwik Cricket on the outfield. Four teams, Guisley CC, Alne girls CC, Follifoot CC and Alwoodley CC will go head to head during the interval of the match. It is a once in a lifetime experience for many of the team members as they get to play on the same pitch as their heroes, and also watch them as they compete in the Semi-Final, experiencing in full the atmosphere of the ground and playing in front of spectators. It’s a great opportunity for the juniors to experience County level cricket and also to support and really get involved in Yorkshire County Cricket Club. We wish you all the best of luck!
Alongside this, we have our mascot George Breheney heading onto the pitch before the match for the coin toss. He’s a junior Viking and a big Yorkshire fan, going to his first game at just 3 months old! He’s ecstatic to be our mascot for the day and to accompany the captain onto the pitch.
As always, our Yorkies will be there welcoming spectators into the ground, offering help, information and a smile, in true Yorkshire fashion. We want everyone to remember their experience at Headingley for years to come, and our Yorkies certainly make this happen!
