Hamara Sports Centre Holds Sporting Memories Sessions

Harama Sports Centre is now running a sporting memories session every 3rd Tuesday of each month to bring together elderly people of the local community.

Sporting Memories Sessions aim to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for sufferers of dementia, loneliness and mental health conditions. It provides an opportunity for people to be included in the local community and reduce stigmas of mental illness and break down barriers, enabling people to come to the session and connect with other locals.

The sessions involve using a range of sporting memorabilia to engage with the past and bring back memories of people through sharing stories and memories.

If you would like to get involved or find out more about our Sporting Memories Projects or about Hamara’s sessions, contact Beth Cook: beth.cook@yorkshirecricketfoundation.com
