Health Checks available at the One Day International!

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation are delighted to have Boundaries for Life delivering free health checks at the One Day International on Wednesday 24th May to spectators and staff.

The inclusion of health checks across the season contributes greatly to the YCF’s Health and Well-being theme and will work to reduce health inequalities and improve health awareness for those who make use of the service.

Boundaries for Life is a health initiative that was founded in 2010 to promote awareness of common and preventable conditions using cricket matches across the UK as a platform to do so. The health checks allow people to take charge of their own health by making them aware of the signs and symptoms of common health problems.

Health checks on the day will focus on key areas of risk and will include screening for:
• High blood pressure
• High Cholesterol
• Obesity
• Diabetes
• Oral Cancer
• Alcohol misuse

“The health checks provide an opportunity for spectators and staff to take charge of their health and take advantage of the opportunity to receive free health checks from fully qualified professionals, without having to specifically make time to do it.” Beth Cook, Foundation Project Officer.

The checks will take approximately 15-20 minutes and do not need to be booked in advance, simply turn up on the day. Boundaries for Life will be located near the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation gazebo near the East Stand. Ask our Yorkies (in the blue t-shirts) on the day for information!
