As part of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation Social Club, the Foundation look to give away free match tickets to service users of Older People’s services in Leeds and surrounding areas.
Each year, the Foundation look to provide those seeking more social opportunities the chance to watch Yorkshire County Cricket Club play at Headingley, free of charge. Those who receive tickets for games either already attend one of the Foundations groups, or are members of local neighbourhood network services who benefit from day trips out.
Three home fixtures are advertised to local neighbourhood networks, community groups and YCF service users who can then book themselves a place. Included in the day, are optional sessions such as sporting reminiscence groups, casual table tennis and tea and coffee stops.
This offer has proven successful, with hundreds of people taking up the offer of tickets each year the scheme has ran.
“I had a lovely day and I’m looking forward to next year already.”
