Leeds is amongst 12 cities selected nationally by ECB to run a comprehensive South Asian Community Cricket Programme, with the aim of improving social cohesion and getting people from a South Asian Background into Cricket.
Leeds is amongst 5 cities selected nationally by ECB to run a comprehensive South Asian Community Cricket Programme, focusing specifically in Chapletown, Gipton, Harehills, Sheepscar, Roundhay, Moortown, Burley, Armley and Beeston. Other cities selected are Bradford, Birmingham, Leicester and a London Borough.
The aim of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s work in Leeds is to effectively engage with different communities across the city and increase the amount of people from South Asian backgrounds playing cricket and integrating with one another. Through a number of projects, our South Asian Communities work in Leeds will also provide other opportunities, such as training and ECB pathways. Alongside this we will be aiming to increase the satisfaction of South Asian cricketers across the city.
