Mum's & Tots

Mums & tots is a six-week programme that forms part of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s Hits and Missus initiative, which helps to engage women and girls into Cricket

The six-week programme began on 21st June. The interactive sessions take place at Hovingham primary school from 9am until 10am and offer local mums and their ‘tots’ the opportunity to have fun whilst interacting with other mums and tots alike.

The sessions have already proved to be a big success with one mum stating how pleased she was to hear there would be a completely free local session available.

“if we weren’t here then me and my daughter would just normally be in the house so it’s so good to see her interacting with other children”

The sessions have taken off with great support from the school providing the venue and assisting Hits & Missus with the advertising of these sessions. Furthermore, the Hovingham have provided a translated version of the mums & tots leaflet allowing the outreach of these session to go even further and out to the local community where for some English is not their first language.

What’s more, the school have also provided assisting staff and a small breakfast and beverages at the sessions, meaning the mums can enjoy the fun and games along with a nice cuppa.
