Gale, Pyrah and Brook Masterclass for Yorkshire Cricket College

Not only do the students at the Yorkshire Cricket college train in world class facilities at Emerald Headingley Stadium they also have top level coaching. This week, as part of their timetabled training, they were treated to sessions with Yorkshire CCC Head Coach, Andrew Gale, bowling coach Rich Pyrah and 1st team batsman, Harry Brook.

With the students currently working on facing spin, Gale and Pyrah delivered a masterclass on positive batting and their mindsets when playing spin. While Brook’s session focussed on how to manoeuvre the field facing spin and finished with fielding.

Throughout the sessions, the students got the chance to pick the minds of the Yorkshire CCC coach and player and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

With the past season heavily disrupted, the students are revelling in the top class coaching they receive at the Yorkshire Cricket College. The students’ timetabled training sessions as well as their academic studies means they have the best of both worlds.

“Having the opportunity to work with pros such as Andrew Gale, Rich Pyrah and Harry Brook whilst having the chance to gain a qualification at the same time is brilliant. My cricket has come on a lot since I started in September and that’s down to the coaching we get here, the facilities and the coaching are just top class’

George Fisher, Yorkshire Cricket College Student
