We're Mining For Diamonds!
On Saturday the 2nd of April, 22 brave, strong and courageous members of the YCF, ProCoach and friends will be ‘mining for diamonds’ in the bid to raise money for woman and girls cricket, in the hope of inspiring women and girls to #ShineBright just like our new Yorkshire women’s franchise, the Yorkshire Diamonds! We will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and we need your to help!
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. In total the walk is around 24.5 miles.
The walk will be starting at Horton in Riddlesdale at 6.30am and planning on finishing 12 hours later at 6.30pm. Essentially this will be like walking a marathon with 3 large peaks to encounter in between the start and the finish. Let’s hope the weather holds out!
It has been organised by the YCF and Pro Coach and the funds raised will go to the County Cricket Club’s charity, The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, directing funds towards women and girls cricket development.
