Hall Park Blow Group Wide Open

The Hall Park Templars sprung a surprise defeat on previous run away leaders, Harden CC as they triumphed by 48 runs.

Batting first, the Templars dominated the innings from start to finish with Waite, Scaife, Hester and Rock all passing 30, with the latter smashing his way to an unbeaten half century.

Bailey took the brunt of the batting, conceding 45 runs in his 5 overs. Moulds was the pick of the Harden attack, taking 4 for 24 in 5 excellent overs.

Chasing 225, Harden got off to a poor start losing Falkingham for just 3 to the bowling of Rock. Moulds and Friemanis steadied the ship somewhat before Waite snuck one through the defences of Friemanis. Riley immediately followed, falling to Rock who claimed his second wicket, leaving Harden chasing the game and in uncharted territory.

After Moulds retired, Bailey (39*) continued the fightback, competantly aided by Topham who was eventually run-out for 25, a dismissal that signalled the end of the Harden rear guard.

The result means that Harden finish on 4 points after their 3 matches. With Hall Park Templars still to play against Great Horton Church, they could tie the group and then net run rate will decide the group winner.
