The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation will be once again offering FREE health checks to all spectators and staff during the YCCC Vs. Lancashire match this Friday, 2nd June. The checks will help increase and improve health awareness and provide healthy lifestyle advice to those attending the cricket, as part of the YCF’s Health and Well Being work.

BUPA will be attending selected fixtures throughout the season and will be carrying out health risk assessments to all adults wishing to partake. The checks will focus on key health measures associated with diabetes, heart disease and strokes. BUPA’s goal is “Helping You Find Healthy”. The health checks will look to measure blood pressure, grip strength, BMI and hip to waist ratio to determine the risks of developing preventable diseases.

I had a Health Check at the last match BUPA attended in May. It was really beneficial and I got an insight into how I’m doing health wise and what I need to do to maintain good health. The checks lasted no longer than 10 minutes and we were given lots of helpful tips and advice, as well as a free goodie bag! -Charlotte Jones, YCF Marketing and PR Officer.

Diseases such as hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes do not always have visible symptoms which is why it is important to take advantage of health checks when they are available. Qualified Health Advisors will conduct a range of non-invasive health checks and offer advice where necessary.

BUPA will be attending further fixtures this year to deliver the same health checks. Please see list below for additional opportunities to have your health checked:

• Friday 7th July – YCCC Vs. Nottinghamshire
• Thursday 17th August – YCCC Vs. Northamptonshire

The health checks will be conducted in Classroom 2 in the East Stand before and during games. No prior booking is necessary, just show up on the day!
