Exciting Entertainment line-up for Children’s Day!
With thousands of children and families expected to head to Headingley Carnegie Stadium this Sunday, Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Yorkshire Cricket Foundation are delighted to announce an exciting entertainment line-up on the main hosting stage provided by Mears for this year’s Children’s Day festival.
The Mears stage which will be hosted by Rugby AM throughout the day will include a range of performances from local music acts, the Rhinestones Dance Academy and Spencer Properties Dance team as well as interviews with the Leeds Rhinos playing squad.
After a request went out asking for singers to send in their audition videos, local music acts Ellie Carpendale, Gemma McNeil, Emili Mumford, Fabienne Clarke, Alishia Schofield and Ben Hirst were selected to entertain the crowds on the day.
Kicking off dance performances and returning for the second straight year will be the Spencer Properties Dance Team, who will be performing a cheerleading routine seen on Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire Carnegie matchdays.
The team includes national freestyling champion Junior Frood, who will also be performing a solo routine for the crowds. The Spencer Properties Dance team’s youngest member has performed previously with Justin Bieber and X-Factor’s Sam Bailey.
Also dancing on the stage will be Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s junior Rhinestones Dance Academy who will be performing street dance learnt at their weekly classes around the city.
One of the regular Children’s Day highlights on the Mears Stage will see Rugby AM interview players from Leeds Rhinos first team squad and with the entire team attending on Sunday, fans will also be given information of when players will be arriving to take photos and sign autographs.
The stage is being provided by long term Leeds Rhinos Foundation Key partner Mears, who sponsor the charity’s Rugby League Development Plan to improve rugby league standards and participation across the city.
“As always we are indebted to Mears for their wide-ranging support of our charity. The Mears stage always provides a central hub for children’s day and lots of entertainment for the crowds, so we’d like to extend a massive thank you to Mears for providing their expertise to build the stage again this year.”
