Yorkshire Cricket College Player Profiles

The Yorkshire Cricket College has officially launched! With cricket training and matches built into their timetable, the following students will study here at Headingley for two years to gain their BTEC Level 3 in Sport qualification….

Opening Bowler/Middle Order Bat
Jonny played at Beckwithshraw CC since the age of 9, moving to Harrogate CC last season, progressing from 4th team to 1st team. Currently part of Yorkshire U16s. After college, Jonny plans to go to University to study a sports related degree. In addition to cricket, he’s a keen cyclist and plays the guitar

Batting All Rounder, right arm bowler, left hand batter
Josh went to Kings School and has played at Brockwalton and Fairburn CC. His career ambitions are to play cricket professionally, to coach or to become a sports teacher. His other hobbies include netball and table tennis, where he reached Yorkshire Finals.

All Rounder
Kieran has played cricket for Brighouse, Hunslet Nelson, Yorkshire, Lightcliffe and Woodlands Cricket Club. His ambition is to be a cricket coach or groundsman. He has a keen interest in 5-a-side football and cooking.

All Rounder
Josh played for Pudsey St Lawrence CC, Yeadon CC and currently plays at Rawdon CC. After college he would like to be a sports coach. In addition to cricket, he also likes football.

Batting All Rounder
Boeta has played for Darton college as well as Yorkshire and is currently playing for Barnsley Woolley Miner CC . Once he finishes college he would like to play professionally or pursue a career in sport. His other interest after cricket are football and golf.

Batting All Rounder
Connor went to Ecclesfield Comprehensive school and has played for Barnsley and Sheffield Colliegate CC. He currently plays for Thorncliffe Cricket Club. He would like to become a professional cricket player and coaches in his spare time.

Leg Spin Bowler
Harrison went to Lady Lumley’s School and has played cricket for North Yorkshire U11-U15’s, Yorkshire U11-U16’s and Scarborough CC. He currently plays for Malton and Old Malton CC. Once he finishes his BTEC Level 3 in Sport, he would like pursue a career in sport. He has a keen interest in golf and football.

All Rounder
Matty attended Kettlethorpe High School, gaining an A* in GCSE PE. He currently plays cricket at Pledwich CC and has played Hockey for North of England. After his two years here at Headingley, he would like to become either a strength and conditioning coach, a personal trainer, coach or PE teacher. His hobbies aside from cricket include cooking and travelling.

Opening Bowler
James played for Keighley, Cullingworth and Denholme CC and has represented Bradford, West Yorkshire and Yorkshire U12s and U15’s. He gained an A in GCSE PE and also has a level 2 sports leaders qualification. His career ambition is to play cricket professionally, become a cricket coach or pursue a career in sports therapy. As well as cricket, he is interested in music and football.

Bowling All Rounder
Oliver has played district cricket for Barnsley and has won the Yorkshire Cup in the 2015/16 season. He attended Upper Haugh Comprehensive School and after college, he would like to go to University and then become a professional cricketer or work as a physio, coach or a teacher. In addition to cricket, he has played rugby for Doncaster RUFC, plays football and follows both football and ice hockey.

Connor has played for Knaresborough Forest Cricket Club and went to King James school. Went he finishes his BTEC Level 3 in sport, he wants to become a professional cricket player or coach. Outside of cricket, he is interested in gaming.

All Rounder
Will has played for Yorkshire U14 and U15’s and currently plays for Pool Cricket Club. Once he finishes college, he would like to be a cricket groundsman. He hobbies aside from cricket are football and cooking.

Left arm seamer/Wicket Keeper
Max went to Hipperholme Grammer School and currently plays cricket for Elland AC and BC. His main ambition is to become a semi pro wicketkeeper or a cricket coach. His interests are badminton and American football.

Bowling All Rounder
He currently plays for Kirk Deighton and has previously played for Yorkshire until he reached 15 and has won Wetherby league twice. Will is a previous winner of the Wetherby League young player of the year award. When he leaves college, he would like to pursue a career as a physio. His interests are football and music.

Right Arm Seam Bowler
Cameron currently plays for Ebberston Cricket Club and Thornton Dale. He went to Lady Lumleys school and studied PE along with German, Media Studies and Geography. He has coaching experience and plans to continue with this in the future, hoping to go to University and pursuing a career in cricket.

Wicket-Keeper/ Batsman
Harry plays for Glasshoughton Cricket Club and plans to work in sports development when he leaves college, hoping to encourage more children to get into sport. His other interests include motorbiking and ice hockey, where he played for England.
