YC College Students have set off to South Africa!

Students from the Yorkshire Cricket College have set off to South Africa, for a ten-day tour involving training, matches and sightseeing.

The squad departed from the Emerald Headingley Stadium on Thursday and are set to arrive in Johannesburg on Friday afternoon, giving them the opportunity to rest up before the work begins.

The first two days of the tour will be spent training, followed by two days of matches against local opposition. After that, the players and staff will head to the Sun City resort in the North West of the country for a day before returning for a third training session.

The tour concludes with another two days of matches before the group gets a chance to let their hair down at a local Lion Park.

The Yorkshire Country Cricket Club professional squad and three other county teams will be in South Africa at the same time as the students, giving them the perfect opportunity to see how they work on a day to day basis.

The tour is expected to become an annual event, giving the students a trip to remember before they complete their studies and head on to pastures new.
