College victorious against Huddersfield New College
The Yorkshire Cricket College beat the Huddersfield New College 2nd XI by eight wickets last week.
Huddersfield batted first and Morgan Hobson top scored with 29 before being caught by Joe Raynor off the bowling of Harry Hollingsworth.
That was one of Raynor’s four wickets, with the bowler recording three maidens from his six overs. Hollingsworth and Archie White took two wickets apiece and Cam Cooper took one.
With a very-achievable score to chase, Harry Snowden and Ben Abbott opened the batting for YCC, with the former recording seven fours and one six on the way to 59 not out from 54 balls.
Number three Jake Read made 25 as the youngsters chased their target of 104 comfortably after just 17.2 overs.
The Yorkshire Cricket College offers 16-18-year-olds the chance to combine sport with their studies, working towards a BTEC level three extended diploma in sport whilst training out of Emerald Headingley Stadium and playing matches against local institutions.
