The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation…

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation is a registered charity that delivers community projects across the county. Using the power of sport and cricket in particular, the Foundation aims to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of those living in Yorkshire.
The work of the Foundation falls under four themes which are:
• Health & Wellbeing
• Education
• Participation
• History and Heritage
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s Health and Wellbeing team as the YCF Running Club Activator.

What Volunteers mean to us…

At the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, we are committed to providing meaningful work placements where individuals can develop personally and professionally. This is a great opportunity for those hoping to increase their experience in community and sport development within the charity of a professional sports club.

The Running Club…

The primary aim of the YCF Running Club is to provide those in the surrounding areas an opportunity to improve their health; inclusive of physical, mental and social health and contribute to the recommended weekly physical activity levels.

The Role…

The role of the YCF Running Club Activator will be to market the running club, recruit new members and retain current members, whilst delivering a professional, yet fun running experience for all involved. In addition to the weekly Running Club, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring our quarterly events such as ‘#RunAndTalk’, and our annual programme, ‘YCF’s Couch to 5k Challenge’ are delivered.

The Successful Candidate…

The successful candidate should have a keen interest in sports development, as well as an understanding of physical activity provision at a community level, considering models of behavior change and potential barriers for the uptake of physical activity. The Running Club Activator will be able to work alone to achieve objectives but work well within the team of Run Leaders and be able to communicate effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
