Pop Up Cricket 2019

Due to the success at Harehills Park last year, this year, we have expanded pop up cricket, funded by Charitable Youth Trust, into other areas in Leeds and it is going from strength to strength.

We ran Pop Up Cricket at Armley Park and Alexandra Park, both sessions gave children the opportunity to get active for FREE. Both sessions ran for 4 weeks and also ran back to back for 2 hours!

Across all sessions, we had a phenomenal attendance of 166 participants, all enjoying and learning the exciting game of Cricket.

If children attendance more than 3 sessions, they also got to take home and keep their very own bat, so they can continue playing Cricket.

The sessions were ran by our community coaches, all of which have undertaken coaching qualifications funded by YCF.

Mustafak Din, one of our recently qualified community coaches said:

“I have a huge love for cricket and it has been my passion for many years to be able to give back to my community. I am so grateful to the YCF for supporting me through my qualification to aid me to introduce the game of cricket at such an exciting time. The children have absolutely loved the sessions, the feedback from the parents has been incredible and therefore I am going to continue running the sessions on a voluntary basis throughout the summer.”
