The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation is a registered charity that delivers community projects across the county. Using the power of sport and cricket in particular, the Foundation aims to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of those living in Yorkshire.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. We are seeking to recruit a Media and Marketing Assistant for the Yorkshire Cricket College. The successful applicant will be responsible for media coverage of the Yorkshire Cricket College; creating match reports, interviews, updating the college’s Play Cricket website and social media updates. This role will be based at Emerald Headingley Cricket Ground.

In a competitive job market, the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s placement and internship programme has helped a number of undergraduate students achieve employment in a sporting environment across a number of different departments.

Job Description – Yorkshire Cricket College Media and Marketing Assistant
Reporting to: Education Manager
Based: Emerald Headingley Cricket Ground
Voluntary role – 1 day per week

Role Purpose
A multi-faceted approach to media and marketing, to report on all aspects of the Yorkshire Cricket College including educational experience, match days, work experience, cricket training and personal achievements. In turn, building the profile of the college across Yorkshire Cricket social media and website platforms.

Team Purpose
To use the power and brand of Yorkshire Cricket to have a positive impact and create community without boundaries.

Main Roles and Responsibilities
• Update and develop the Yorkshire Cricket College Play Cricket website
• Capture footage of match and training days
• Conduct interviews with students, tutors and coaches
• Update social media to report on and raise awareness of the college
• Develop innovative content to ensure content engagement
Personal Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
• Knowledge of cricket
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise own workload with minimum supervision
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and work to meet deadlines
• Experience with multiple social media platforms
• Willing to work occasional evenings
• Experience with Play Cricket websites
• Photography / Videography experience
