Are you looking to increase your knowledge and awareness of mental health and become a mental health champion for your community?

Howstha is a campaign centred around a series of online mental health courses targeted at individuals wishing to develop their knowledge in counselling, suicide awareness and awareness of mental health problems.

The courses, which are run in partnership with The Skills Network, are available to study for FREE for individuals who are over the age of 19 and not currently in education.

Courses include:

• Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems
• Level 2 Certificate in Self-harm and Suicide Awareness and Prevention
• Level 2 Certificate In Counselling Skills

As a charity, we aim to upskill individuals so that they feel comfortable and confident talking about mental health, allowing them to act as a champion within their community and break down the stigma often associated with mental health.

Upon course completion, learners will gain a nationally recognised qualification which is equivalent to GCSE level.

The courses may be of interest to individuals associated with community clubs, volunteers and people wishing to learn more about mental health in general.

In the current circumstances, it is now more important than ever to raise awareness of mental health in both adults and children. By choosing to study with the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and The Skills Network, learners will have access to a wide range of interactive resources and educational content.

The Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems provides learners with a comprehensive overview of prevalent mental health problems and how to work with or interact with individuals who may have them.

As part of the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, learners will study a range of modules, including counselling skills theories, diversity and ethics in counselling.

The Level 2 Certificate in Self-harm and Suicide Awareness course covers a number of areas including recognising the signs of suicide and self-harm in individuals and the principles of self-harm and suicide prevention.

All courses are delivered remotely, allowing learners to study at their own pace and ability and take approximately 8-12 weeks to complete.

You can show your support for the campaign on social media by engaging and following the #Howstha hashtag.
