What will I get up to?
In your first week, you’ll live away from home and get involved in activities like Rock Climbing, abseiling, canoeing, gorge scrambling and many more. All the best adrenaline-fuelled adventure activities to challenge you and get you out of your comfort zone (Don’t worry, we will not force you to do anything you don’t want to do). In the evenings you’ll have plenty of time to let your hair down, watch a movie or just hang out with your friends.
During the second week it’s time for you to try out some adult life with your new (and old) friends. You’ll get the chance to live independently, do some cooking and take part in some fantastic workshops – things like Self-defence, street art & graffiti and have a visit from ex-professional athletes who will talk to you about how to reach your potential. All this is a great way of developing your life skills and exploring the things that will make your CV or UCAS applications stand out.
Fuelled by the first two weeks, you’ll now turn your attentions to making positive change within your local community. You’ll spend the last two weeks using your voice to plan and deliver a social action project that will have lasting impact. In the past there have been fundraising events, awareness campaigns and active voluntary work for projects that people like yourself feel passionate about. Whatever you care about, whatever is close to your heart, you can make a difference.
You’ll then get a certificate signed by the Prime Minister at the celebration event which will recognise your achievements and catch up with all those friends you have made.
