Top Gun at Headingley

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s search for the fastest bowlers in Yorkshire continued on Sunday at the home of Yorkshire CCC. The Yorkshire Cricket Centre hosted 38 entrants from all over the county, each one hoping to break into their respective region’s Top 4 for a chance to bowl at Headingley during a NatWest T20 Blast match.

After 2 hours of clocking, the fastest 4 bowlers from West Yorkshire on the day were established with Syed Badar Shah firing down the fastest delivery, an impressive 74mph. There was change too at the top of the North group with Scarborough CC quick Chris Grey, who achieved 74mph now leading the way. Finally, Michael Jepps and Anthony Scully stole the top 2 places in the South Yorkshire group with 73mph and 67mph respectively.

The latest Top 4 standings below could all change. If you think you could challenge and be in with the chance of bowling at Headingley during the interval of a Yorkshire Vikings match, why not have a go! Simply click the application form link below to register for one of the 4 remaining heats.
