April Month in Highlights
We take a look back on what was a busy month in our April highlights!
We were pleased to launch Howstha?, a campaign centred around a series of online mental health courses targeted at individuals wishing to develop their knowledge in counselling, suicide awareness and awareness of mental health problems. The courses, which are run in partnership with The Skills Network, are available to study for FREE for individuals who are over the age of 19 and not currently in education.
Our NCS team have been busy speaking to schools and groups across Yorkshire to recruit for our summer programme! With some programmes already sold out!
The Yorkshire Cricket College have returned to outdoor training and playing regular matches, we recently an held open evening for potential students to learn all about the college and the fantastic opportunities available.
Three of our Yorkshire Cricket College students who have been selected for the Northern Diamonds’ Academy, 15 player squad for the 2021 season.Grace Hall, Jess Woolston and Phoebe Turner have all been selected following observations sessions and match practice scenarios.
Walking Cricket returned across the County and we were delighted to launch new sessions in Rotherham. Walking Cricket was developed as a new concept in 2018, making cricket accessible to older men and women or individuals who are semi-retired or retired. Walking Cricket is an adaptation of the traditional game of Cricket to suit those with less mobility and caters for different abilities.
Our popular Wicketz programme has started back again in both Hull and Bradford with lots of exciting activities and sessions planned in the coming weeks.
We were pleased to expand Enjoy Cricket for 2021 with the offer open to community groups, schools and clubs.
We continue to have a fantastic attendance across our heritage reminiscence sessions and we have recently launched a crowdfunder to ensure these can continue in the coming months. Details can be found here:
