National Apprenticeship Week: YCC supports campaign

The Yorkshire Cricket College is highlighting the value of apprenticeships for students.

The education piece is to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2022 – which runs until February 13 – celebrating the positive impact apprenticeships bring to employers, individuals, and the economy.

The award-winning YCC, which supports 59 students across two year groups and is based at the Headingley Stadium, in Leeds, has delivered a number of research workshops around the benefits of apprenticeships as part of the backing for the campaign.

Students at the Yorkshire Cricket College have education received research workshops about the value of apprenticeships this week.

The ‘Build the Future’ theme for the National Apprenticeship Week returns for its second year, with over 1,200 events taking place across England to showcase the benefits of apprenticeships.

The week aims to celebrate and promote the fantastic benefits which apprenticeships offer both learners and employers, spotlighting businesses who are investing in this life-changing education route.

Nick Robinson, the head of the YCC, said: “National Apprenticeship Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the many benefits that apprenticeships bring to employers, individuals and the wider economy.

“Apprenticeships build skills supply now and for the future, and form an important part of many organisations’ recruitment, skills and business strategies. We want employers to showcase how they are realising the return on their investment when apprentices are brought into the business.

“Apprenticeships offer outstanding access to skilled careers across a wide range of occupations and industries. We want current apprentices from all sectors and of all ages to get behind the week and to demonstrate the positive impact of apprenticeships on their careers, families and communities.”
