World Mental Health Day 2022

Today is World Mental Health Day and the theme for this year – set by the World Federation for Mental Health – is ‘Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority’.

To help support the campaign this year team members from across Yorkshire Cricket will join the #PinItForMentalHealth movement, led by the Mental Health Foundation – wearing the green ribbon.

The green ribbon is the symbol of mental health awareness – with all proceeds, from purchasing the green ribbons, going towards the vital work the Mental Health Foundation does – with a focus on mental health and prevention.

Here’s how to get involved:

• Take a photo wearing your enamel green ribbon
• Post the photo on Twitter
• Add the hashtags #PinItForMentalHealth and #WorldMentalHealthDay
• Tag @mentalhealth

The green ribbon is the symbol of mental health awareness.

Yorkshire Cricket supports mental health awareness and as an organisation we are striving to make Yorkshire Cricket a more welcoming environment for anyone who experiences poor mental health.

One of our initiatives – run by the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation – is to support mental health through our #Howstha? campaign.

The campaign, originally launched last year, is centred around a series of free online mental health courses aimed at individuals wishing to develop their knowledge in counselling, suicide awareness and awareness of mental health problems.

The courses, which are run in partnership with The Skills Network, are available to study for free for individuals who are over the age of 19 and not currently in education.

Courses include:
•Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems
• Level 2 Certificate in Self-harm and Suicide Awareness and Prevention
• Level 2 Certificate In Counselling Skills

Upon course completion, learners will gain a nationally recognised qualification which is equivalent to GCSE level.
