Call for teams to take part in YCF Leeds Indoor Cup 2023

The YCF is calling for teams to take part in the organisations Leeds Indoor Cricket Cup 2023 competition starting in January.

Our flagship league in Leeds will open up 16 teams across the city next year, with each team batting it out for a place in finals day on Sunday, 12 March, at Trinity Academy Leeds.

There is currently room for three more teams to sign up to the league, with a deadline of Friday, 6 January to apply.

Our competition, part of our core cities programme, follows on from our indoor leagues in October and November, and will run alongside the similar leagues in Bradford, Sheffield and Kirklees.

The winner of the YCF Leeds Indoor Cup in March will go on to play the winners of the Bradford, Sheffield and Kirklees leagues in the to be crowned YCF City Cup Champions!

When will the league start?
The games are scheduled to start from the third week of January with matches played on Tuesdays or Sundays between 5-10pm.

How is the league structured?
There will be two groups – Group A (Tuesday’s) and Group B (Sunday’s), with games taking place at two venues – either Leeds City Academy (Group A) or Trinity Academy Leeds (Group B).

The structure of the league is 16 teams in two groups of eight. The top four teams from each group will go through to the quarter finals, then semi-finals and then a final.

Groups and venues will be decided via a draw held at the Headingley Cricket Stadium by the YCF staff.

When will the final be?
The final will be held on Sunday, 12 March, at Trinity Academy Leeds and the winner of this league will then play the winners of the Bradford, Sheffield and Kirklees to be crowned YCF City Cup Champions!

The YCF City Cup will be held on Sunday, 19 March in Sheffield – with the venue TBC.

How much will the league cost?
The cost for the league is £4 per person per week. Every team will receive a new ball which they will use for all the seven league games. Umpires will give these and take them back after each game.

There will be player of the match medal presented after each game and an online scoring will be completed for each game via the CricClubs app. This will show points tables, leading run-scorer & wicket-taker, most catches etc.

— Rules, Fixtures, Code of Conduct and Junior consent forms will be sent in the first week of the new year
