Yorkshire Cricket Foundation Junior Vikings Day!

Sunday 20th May, saw the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF) take centre stage as Yorkshire Vikings took on Warwickshire bears in ‘Yorkshire Cricket Foundation: Junior Vikings Day’

The YCF are the club’s charity and community arm and all our work falls under four core themes; Health & Wellbeing, Education, Heritage and Participation, which were promoted throughout the day, whilst spectators took part in a range of activities.

Activities included a giant catching inflatable, face painters, YCF throw show, Pro Coach skills Zone, spin the wheel, photo booth and archery!

Vinnie the Viking was also wondering around the ground, taking Selfies and leading the Guard of Honour!

Part of the day was also focused on our project work, as many of our service users from a range of projects were actively involved in the day, from manning activity stalls, being part in the Guard of Honour and taking centre stage during the interval in a Kwik Cricket competition on the outfield at Emerald Headingley Stadium.

As always, we had a Major Match Day Support Team, the Yorkies, around the ground to welcome people to the ground.

Spectators got themselves on the big screen by tweeting @YCCC_YCF with the hashtag #YCFDAY

Throughout the day, we managed to raises a whooping £855.60 from activities and the match day raffle.

Twitter Competition: the YCF Selfie board was out and about as spectators tweeted their snaps for the chance to win 2 Ticket Vouchers.

Our major match day support team were here at always, welcomeing spectators to the ground and answering any questions.
