Primary school is an important development stage for young people in their physical, social and mental wellbeing.

By providing cricket opportunities for your pupils you can help them improve their fundamental sports skills, create new friendships, develop team working and let them experience a new sport for the first time.

The Yorkshire Cricket Board works with several funding partners to facilitate cricket participation in schools with a focus on Dynamos Cricket Intros and Chance to Shine; covering both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 provision.

Dynamos Cricket Intros

Dynamos Cricket is an eight-hour cricket programme designed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for children to enjoy cricket, ideal as an after-school club.

With funding available from Sky Sports, schools meeting certain criteria can run a Dynamos Cricket Intros programme free of charge to their pupils, who will receive a free personalised New Balance t-shirt and a packet of Topps Wild Cards upon registration.

This is a self-delivered programme – the YCB will provide the training and equipment required to create engaging cricket sessions for young people and trust in you to build a love of cricket among your pupils. This programme is aimed at ages 8-11 (KS2).
