The R66T Academy is all about finding ways to encourage people to play more cricket. By making cricket fun they think that they can increase the take up and retention of players. They coaches want to intensify the experience of young players by using the best available technology and expertise.

Via their Schools Partnership Program, they want to engage with youngsters via schools. R66T want to share ideas and coaching techniques with teachers and enhance the delivery of cricket coaching to school-age players.

The Competition

As Yorkshire is Joe’s home county, we are working with the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and the existing bodies developing state school cricket, to enhance the offer to schools already in place.

The “R66T to Hardball” competition aims to support secondary schools in encouraging new players to play hardball cricket. The rules are highly inclusive and build on existing softball initiatives running in many primary schools.

Details of the 2026 “R66T to Hardball” U12 Cricket Competition will be available soon.
