The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation are proud to deliver the Lord’s Taverners SEND (Special Education Needs and Disability) Schools Programme to both primary and secondary schools across the county.

In partnership with school personnel, the programme is delivered by highly qualified Yorkshire Cricket Foundation staff and can include both softball and table cricket.

Participants also have the chance to take part in inter-school competitions for both forms of the game, fostering an engaging and friendly competition environment.

Outcomes of Lord’s Taverners work in SEND schools:

  • Extend the reach of cricket to new settings
  • Ensure more young people with SEND have the opportunity to engage in the most appropriate form of cricket
  • Continue working within SEND settings already engaged in table cricket
  • Transition more young people with a disability to community settings such as Super 1’s, Disability Champion Clubs and other appropriate community offers
  • Building on the success of their work within these settings through table cricket, there is an enhanced offer of both table cricket and/or softball cricket to ensure sessions are engaging and
    appropriate for each group they are delivered to
