Pop-Up Cricket introduces the game to children aged 6–13 who may not previously have had the opportunity, resources or access to play cricket. The programme is designed to reach new audiences by delivering sessions in familiar, community-based spaces such as MUGAs, parks and playing fields, rather than traditional cricket grounds, helping children feel comfortable and confident getting involved.
Sessions are delivered in areas of deprivation or remote locations where access to formal sporting facilities may be limited. Funded by the Charitable Youth Trust and run by Yorkshire Cricket-affiliated coaches, Pop-Up Cricket is completely free, with no sign-up or registration required, ensuring every child has the chance to take part and enjoy the game.
