This course is designed as a follow on to the ECB Umpires Course, attendees will elevate their knowledge to a level where they can operate as a club umpire, or as a panel umpire in in the lower divisions of cricket leagues. This course is also ideal for club umpires, or those players who wish to be able to do their 10 overs stood at square leg competently.

Module B

This module is suitable for any person aspiring to become a panel umpire. It looks at some of the more common cricket laws in more depth, whilst expanding on some of the others not covered in the UDC.

Module A

Module A is suitable for those experienced umpires who may wish to become Premier League panel umpires. This Module doesn’t look at the Laws as a good knowledge of them is a pre-requisite, but instead looks at Regulation interpretation, disciplinary report writing, Penalty time calculations, effective performance, match management, and how to manage players behaviour. Module A will definitely assist an umpire in making the transition from M4/W4 to M3/W3.

MCC Online Resource

MCC, the Guardian of Law, recently completed a comprehensive overhaul of the Laws. To coincide with the new code that came into effect on October 1st, 2022, they have produced an excellent on-line resource which will take you through each of the Laws, with explanations and examples.
