General Conduct Regulations
The General Conduct Regulations (GCR) and Recreational Cricket Regulations (RCR) set out detailed disciplinary processes designed to ensure matters are handled fairly, efficiently and consistently across cricket. They provide guidance to help organisations establish and manage their own disciplinary procedures.
In December 2025, the ECB released updated GCRs and RCRs, which come into effect from 01 April 2026.
The GCR applies to all ECB-accredited Premier Leagues and their pyramid structures, while the RCR applies to recreational leagues under ECB jurisdiction that have not adopted the GCR. Guidance accompanies the regulations to support cricket organisations in administering disciplinary processes effectively.
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation adopts the General Conduct Regulations (GCRs) and will conduct any disciplinary processes utilising the approach outlined in the GCR’s. For clarification the version of the GCR’s used will be the most up to date version at the time.
