Safeguarding is Everyone’s Responsibility

At the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and the ECB, we’re committed to making cricket a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. That’s why we offer safeguarding training for all participants, tailored to different roles:

  • ECB Safeguarding Level One (SGL1): Quick free 30-minute online induction for everyone involved in cricket (for parents, volunteers, players etc)

  • ECB Safeguarding Level Two (SGL2): Interactive free 1-hour online course with an assessment for those in Regulated Cricketing roles (mandatory training for Club Safeguarding Officer’s, Captains, Coaches, Junior Managers etc)

  • ECB Safeguarding Level Three (SGL3) – Safe Hands Workshop: Hands-on 3-hour face-to-face workshop led by an ECB-trained tutor (mandatory training for Club & League Safeguarding Officer’s)

Whether you’re a player, coach, volunteer or official, completing the right safeguarding training helps keep cricket safe, fun and inclusive for all. To learn more about which courses are compulsory for all roles in cricket please click here.

To further enhance the safeguarding of everyone involved with cricket, the ECB also have a short introduction to the national Prevent programme. It’s aim is to help people vulnerable to radicalisation move away from extremism.

  • ECB Prevent: Quick free 30-minute online induction exploring the Prevent Duty within Cricket, designed for everyone involved in cricket in any role (parents, volunteers, players etc)
