Interested in becoming a Self-Employed Coach?
If you are interested in working with Yorkshire Cricket Foundation as a Self-Employed Coach, the first step is to complete our Expression of Interest form using the link below.
Submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee that you will be offered work or issued with a contract. Once we have reviewed your submission, if we believe there may be suitable opportunities for you, we will contact you to begin our screening and compliance process.
What happens next?
Screening and compliance
Before you can receive a Self-Employed Contractor agreement or deliver any activity on behalf of Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, you must meet our compliance requirements.
These requirements are in place to support the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk and form part of our safer recruitment process.
ECB Enhanced DBS
Coaches undertaking regulated activity must hold a satisfactory paid ECB Enhanced DBS for their role with Yorkshire Cricket Foundation.
If you need a new DBS, we will initiate the application for you and you will receive an email explaining how to complete the process and verify your identity.
Please note:
- A volunteer ECB DBS cannot be accepted for a paid coaching role.
- You will be responsible for the cost of your paid ECB Enhanced DBS application.
- We strongly recommend joining the DBS Update Service, which can avoid the need to pay for a new application each year, subject to your circumstances remaining unchanged.
- You cannot begin delivering sessions until the required DBS process has been completed and a satisfactory outcome has been received.
Mandatory online training
As part of the compliance process, coaches are also required to complete the following online training:
- Introducing the Boundary
- Safeguarding Level 1
- Safeguarding Level 2
- Prevent
If you have already completed any of these courses and your certification remains valid, you will be asked to provide evidence of completion. Where training is outstanding, we will provide information on how to access the relevant course.
Completed certificates should be sent to contractor@yorkshirecf.com.
You must complete all required compliance checks and training before progressing to delivery.
Induction
Once the initial screening and compliance requirements have been completed, you will be invited to attend a Yorkshire Cricket Foundation contractor induction.
The induction will provide further information about working with YCF, our expectations, policies and procedures, safeguarding responsibilities and how coaching opportunities are allocated.
Contractor agreement
Following successful completion of the required checks, training and induction, we will issue your Self-Employed Contractor Agreement via DocuSign.
Your contractor status is only confirmed once the agreement has been completed and signed.
Getting set up for payment
You will also be asked to complete the relevant supplier/payment documentation so that you can be set up on our finance system.
Once all stages of the process have been completed, you will be eligible to be offered suitable coaching opportunities as they become available.
Please Remember: completing an Expression of Interest or the screening process does not guarantee a minimum number of hours or any specific coaching assignment. Opportunities will depend on programme requirements, location, availability, skills and experience.
