The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF) is delighted to announce that it has been awarded ‘Ready to Invest’ status by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
‘Ready to Invest’ is recognition awarded to recreational cricket boards across England and Wales that have met the standards within the ECB’s County Partnership Agreement (CPA). The CPA is a framework of standards, that supports the development of recreational cricket boards, strengthens governance and enhances organisational effectiveness across all functions of the business.
Achieving ‘Ready to Invest’ status demonstrates Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s commitment to excellence, strong governance and continuous improvement in delivering recreational and community cricket across Yorkshire.
The ECB uses the ‘Ready to Invest’ status to recognise and celebrate organisational excellence and support recreational cricket boards in becoming more attractive to external investment.
The YCF merged with the Yorkshire Cricket Board in July 2025, creating a combined charitable organisation focused on recreational and community cricket across Yorkshire. Earlier this year, the organisation launched its ‘New Horizon’ strategy, which set out its vision for the future of cricket and community engagement across the county.
Commenting on the recognition, Managing Director Shariq Mumtaz said:
This is testament to the YCF team and the Trustees in working together for this achievement – we will not be complacent and remain committed to continually improving and raising our standards even further.
The ECB’s Managing Director of the Recreational Game, Leshia Hawkins added:
“The award of ECB ‘Ready to Invest’ status, and associated recognition, is significant and is hard-earned; It is also testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved at Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, both executive and non-executive.
I know there is a great amount of skill, ambition and care that colleagues – and volunteers – in Yorkshire are bringing to our sport, and I am excited by our partnership, and the plans and outcomes we are seeing in the recreational game in our largest county”.
