All Stars Cricket Continues to Thrive as Programme Passes 53,000 Bookings Milestone
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation is celebrating another successful year of All Stars Cricket, with more than 6,200 bookings recorded across Yorkshire in 2026 and over 53,000 bookings achieved since the programme launched.
This summer, 6,260 bookings were made across 260 All Stars Cricket courses, highlighting the continued popularity of the England and Wales Cricket Board’s entry-level programme for children aged 5-8.
One of the standout successes from 2026 was the programme’s ability to attract new families into cricket. Of all bookings made this year, 3,916 were first-time participants, representing 62.7% of all bookings, while 2,333 children were returning participants.
Delivering Cricket Across Yorkshire
All Stars Cricket was delivered through 260 courses, with clubs once again playing a leading role in providing opportunities within their local communities.
Of those courses, 248 (95.4%) were delivered directly by cricket clubs, demonstrating the strength and commitment of Yorkshire’s recreational cricket setup.
Demand remained strong throughout the county, with:
- 112 courses (43%) attracting 24 or more participants
- 99 courses (38%) recording between 10 and 23 participants
The figures underline the continued desire for junior cricket experiences and the importance of clubs in providing engaging, welcoming environments for young people and their families.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Overall participation saw 4,708 boys (75.2%) and 1,545 girls (24.7%) take part, including six girls-only courses. The majority of participants were aged 6 (1850 children) and 7 (1879 children), showing the importance of an entry level cricket offer.
Making Cricket Accessible for Everyone
Ensuring cricket remains accessible to all young people continues to be a priority for the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation.
In 2026, 270 bursary bookings were provided, helping families overcome financial barriers and enabling more children to experience the benefits of cricket. Among those supported through bursaries were:
- 192 boys (68.6%)
- 87 girls (31.1%)
In addition, 10 Holiday Camp places were made available through bursary support. The programme also continued to engage children from a broad range of backgrounds, helping cricket remain an inclusive and welcoming sport across Yorkshire’s diverse communities.
A Decade of All Stars Success
This year’s total means that since the programme began in 2017, Yorkshire has now recorded an impressive 53,749 All Stars Cricket bookings.
Annual bookings have consistently exceeded 5,900 participants since the programme’s introduction, with 2026’s total of 6,260 bookings ranking amongst the strongest years on record. The ten-year journey highlights the lasting impact All Stars Cricket has had in introducing thousands of children and families to cricket, creating positive first experiences and strengthening the future of the recreational game throughout Yorkshire.
As the programme continues to grow, the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation would like to thank the clubs, activators, volunteers and families whose support has helped make All Stars Cricket one of the region’s most successful participation programmes. With more than 53,000 bookings achieved and thousands of young people taking their first steps into cricket every year, the future of All Stars Cricket in Yorkshire remains brighter than ever.
